Cardano is getting a facelift… 🔜!

Hey there, GM,

Welcome to Switch Daily. 😇

The week started on a sad note, no? Business Tycoon — Cyrus Mistry's sudden death and beautiful Bengaluru submerged under water due to rains. 😔 RIP, sir, and may the city rise like a phoenix again.

But right now, we need a bit of cheer, and that's exactly what we bring to today’s issue. So sit back and soak in some good green news💚.

Here’s what we have for you today:

  • Market pulse

  • The Vasil fork upgrade

  • More news

  • Meme of the day

Market pulse 📈

The market is practicing Shavasana 🛌

The crypto market was steady throughout yesterday’s session with BTC continuing to move between the $19,500-$19,800 narrow range. The price of top crypto coins remained steady as they held on to their key support levels. As the process for the merge kicks off today, all eyes will be on Ethereum and how things pan out until the merge completes.

With no positive triggers, the total market cap of the crypto market continues to stay below the psychologically important $1 trillion level.

🧔Hoskinson spills the beans on Vasil-fork 🫘

Remember Cardano? The coin that not everybody talks about?

It is like the one well-read kid we all knew at school 🧑🏾‍🎓. They may be the ‘nerd’ or the ‘awkward one’ but surely have big brains.

To improve its scalability and speed further, the Cardano is also working towards a major update called ‘Vasil Fork.’ This major upgrade could make Cardano as good as Ethereum minus its scalability issues. 🤩

Ever wondered why the name Vasil? This is why 👇🏻

Vasil St. Dabov is an artist and Cardano ambassador who planted more than 10,000 trees belonging to the Ginkgo Biloba and other endangered species. He was one of the main organizers of Cardano’s 2nd anniversary in Bulgaria. And this fork is dedicated to the man!

During the weekend, Charles Hoskinson, the creator of the wonder kid — Cardano, tweeted that the Vasil fork now has a hard date of 22 Sep and talked about what is coming for Cardano after the most anticipated upgrade.

Here’s the gist of what he said:

  • Cardano will continue evolving post the upgrade.

  • 2023 will see many CIPs (Cardano Improvement Protocols) coming.

  • The success of this upgrade will bring Cardano closer to its ultimate goals of being more useful, portable, scalable, and better for everybody.

While we are all busy obsessing on ‘The Merge,’ the ex-cofounder of Ethereum, Hoskinson is busy WAGMI-ing Cardano.

Just FYI: A Messari report suggests that Cardano ranks 3rd in energy efficiency in POS projects. 🍀
