You Can Now File FIR on Blockchain 👮🔗

Good Morning Switchers,

👋 Welcome to Switch Daily.

Did you check out Meta’s cool new VR set ‘Meta Quest Pro’ yet? They say that it’s set to launch on 25 Oct at $1500. Not sure how the actual VR set is, but they’ve put out some amazing videos of the product that make us go 🤯. Man if it turns out to be as good as they say it is, 👇🏽 could be us in the future.

Here’s what we’ve got for you:

  • Market pulse

  • File FIR on blockchain

  • News to make your Thursday less boring

  • Meme of the day

Market pulse 📈

The market is as flat as old soda 🥤

The broader crypto market is flat as it awaits the US Consumer Price Index report, which is expected to be released today. Dominant cryptos including BTC and ETH continue to hover around the $19,000 and $1,200 levels, respectively. However, according to FX Empire, these metrics may be reversed soon with a softened inflation rate.

The report stated that the Producer Price Index rose by 0.4% in September, reversing August’s 0.2% decline. Another 0.2% rise might occur in the future. Furthermore, the annual wholesale inflation rate, which previously dropped from 8.7% to 8.5%, is expected to go down to 8.4%.

PS: The Producer Price Index measures the rate of inflation at a wholesale level.

🔗On-Chain Police Complaints

The police department carries a reputation of being not so fast in catching up with the cool tech, at least that's what Indian Cinema taught us. Remember Dhoom 2? Where the bad guy was a tech freak, and the police were meh! (wink, wink)

Well, not anymore.

Coz, get this…

Thanks to Polygon and a tech-savvy IPS officer Ashish Tiwari we can now file police complaints on blockchain for the first time in India.

How?

Well, the Firozabad police in Uttar Pradesh have joined hands with Polygon and airchains.io to launch a blockchain-based website—https://www.policecomplaintonblockchain.in/. The idea is to enable folks to register police complaints and track the status of the complaint too.

But how is it different from regular websites?

  • Once a complaint is registered, it cannot be deleted or modified.

  • Higher transparency and verification

  • Hassle-free filing process

Kickass no? We think this a revolutionary feat for blockchain adoption in India. But, this isn’t the first time that the Indian Police has used blockchain to solve problems.

For instance, the Goa state police decided to go paperless and adopted blockchain technology for more secure and transparent evidence logs.

Plus, the Indian government has taken to blockchain very quickly. They have been using it in various projects such as blockchain-based digital diplomas, certification projects, virtual identity management systems, etc.

Polygon's partnership with the UP Police is another feather to India's Web3 crown of many feathers.
